The latest Starfield extension for Vortex will remove the My Games\Starfield\Data folder and replace it with a symbolic link to the actual Data directory, so you don't need the Baka mod to disable it anymore. Makes me laugh, I did that I think two days after the game came out, when I realized having two different Data directories was a stupid idea.

The current version of Vortex cannot install mods with both plugins and loose files correctly for Starfield. If a Starfield mod has both plugins (ESM files) and loose files, Vortex will only install the plugins and not the loose files. However, if a mod has either only loose files or only plugins and not both, Vortex will function correctly.

I think most Starfield modders are aware of the frustrations with modding the game at the moment. We have to look at supporting Steam and Game Pass versions, the ongoing saga with multiple Data folders and the wild west that is plugins.txt support added via Steam-only SFSE and also by ASI loaders that work for both Steam and Game Pass.
Most mod authors put instructions in the details of the post to let you know. It will know where to deploy most mods that add deploy links to the game folder and\or the data folder. This worked for me: Go to Extensions and remove the Starfield Extension, then restart Vortex and Starfield should appear on the list of unmanaged games.
