For the life of me I couldn't figure out why the game was making my PC run so hot while playing Madden. It was constantly churning the CPU at 100%. I've got an i7 8700k and a 1080ti; I play much more intensive games and it doesn't even break a sweat. But I finally figured it out! For some strange reason, the game was using the CPU for OpenGL ...I was monitoring my Task Manager performance while in the game and it said 1-2% GPU usage the entire time. Interestingly, though, when I tabbed out of Madden to go to Discord, my browser, or any other application, my GPU usage would spike to 70-100% usage out of NOWHERE.
