The Myakka Elephant Ranch was established in the late 1980's and at the moment has 3 elephants - Lou is 39 years old and an African elephant, Carol is 38 years old and an Asian Elephant and Patty who is also an Asian Elephant is 38 years old. They are looked after very well at the ranch. Limited to 8-10 guests per day. Two Indian elephants lumbered into the open air enclosure for us to hand them their favorite treats of fruits and veggies, and then one-on-one bathing, scrubbing and manicure for one of them. Plenty of opportunity touch and take photos. About our Ranch. Myakka Elephant Ranch is a non-profit conservation center. From tusk to tail we strive to educate our guests on elephant conservation while providing a memorable once in a lifetime experience.
