Hodgdon's website has 1oz lead data using 572 and a Remington sp20 wad. In Tom Roster's lead and bismuth manual he substitutes a precision 7/8oz steel wad for the sp20 and notes it at the same pressure and velocity. I'm attempting to load 1oz bismuth #5 using the precision wad in place of the sp20.There's no question that they work in 7/8 oz. loads, but the question he was asking is about a replacement wad for the Rem. SP 20 wad, which is a 1 oz. 20 ga. wad. Down range makes no wad specificlly for 1 oz. loads, but their short DRV wad, coupled with the longer STS case, just might let you load 1 oz. loads. DLM

The "s" means stitched wad, that is the wad is connected at the top of the slits. Supposed to break apart upon firing. Its main purpose is to ease feeding of the wad on some reloading machines. For reload recipe purposes, it is the same wad.

Those are loads that are supposedly safe with any hull/wad combination so long as you use the called for charge of powder with a non-magnum primer for the given shot weight. No guarantees crimps are going to be pretty.
