I've been experiencing reception (well lack thereof) problems listening to the State Police ever since they switched over to the CLMRN. On the old system I could pick them up at work in Danbury with no issues. After the change-over I have all but lost them completely in Danbury. I'm using a...they have officially switched over to the new system statewide, and unpatched the old smartzone. there are MANY new talkgroups on this system including ones for regional dispatch centers. Guess I have to finally get a P2 scanner because I hear nothing on the smartzone anymoreBut then I played around with the manual filter settings and the system analyzer to find the filter settings that work best. Turns out for Bristol, Waterbury (especially Waterbury) and Bristol, no filter works the best. On CLMRN, turning off the filter lets me receive Troops A&B simulcast in addition to Troop L.CLMRN is a mindblowingly huge system and considering the number of agencies that you can monitor by punching in one control frequency is really awesome. The VHF is still alive and is linked to the CLMRN Trumbull dispatch channel. They do have VRS in some units that have the capability to do analog or digital FG to the CLMRN but it looks to be in the testing phase still.
